What is a Segway? How does it work? |
|
| The Segway Personal Transporter (PT) is the first
of its kind - a self-balancing, personal transportation device
designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate,
the two-wheeled Segway sports high-techgyroscopes that monitor
your balance 100 times a second and automatically respond to
your body's movements. To move forward, the rider simply leans
forward. To stop or move backwards, the rider leans back slightly.The
rider glides smoothly as the Segway senses where you want to
go. We use the latest generation of Segway PT, Segway
i2 for our tours so that you can feel the unique

How do I learn to ride a Segway? |
|
All first time customers are required to take
a 30 minute for training session by our professional staff
to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Riders are also
trained on emergency stops and all applicable road safety
rules. All riders are required to wear a helmet.
Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled
tour time to check in and start your tour and training on
time. If you arrive late we will NOT let you join a tour group
that has already started training. Safety and complete training
for all of our guests is our first priority. |

Can I test drive a Segway for 5 minutes? |
|

Yes, you can. However, for safety
reason, only registered customers will be trained and allowed
to participate. Now!, we offer the Segway Trial Experience
15 minutes for 300 baht only. |

Is Segway legally allowed for tourism in Thailand,
especially in Bangkok? |
|
Well-organized Segway tours are legally allowed
on designated Bangkok streets and pathways. However, we strongly
stress that it is the Segway rider’s responsibility
to respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes, cars, other vehicles
for a safe enjoyable ride.
We are the first and only Segway Authorized
Tour Operator in Thailand, and have been registered with the
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) with TAT Travel Agent
License No. 11/5450.

Are Segways safe for children, the elderly
or people with disabilities? |
|
Safety is our priority concern! All guests
must be at age 12 or older and weight at least 100 pounds
(45 kilograms) or not
over 265 pounds (120 kilograms). Children under 18 must be
accompanied by an adult or guardian.
A Segway PT is not an ideal mode of touring for people with
some mobility issues. All guests must be able to easily and
quickly step on and off the Segway PT without any assistance,
which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and
descending stairs without assistance or use of a handrail.
Also, Segway riding is not recommended for pregnant women,who
unfortunately will not be permitted to participate.
If you book a tour and any of your guests do not meet the
minimum age/weight criteria they will not be allowed on the
tour and you will not be given a refund. Please review the
rider requirements stated in Important Notes. |

How long and far do I ride? |
|

Riding time lasts about 2.5 hours
per trip and about 10 km in distance. |

How many stops for pictures? |
|
| We make frequent stops for pictures along
the route. For safety, we request that riders do not take pictures
or videos while riding on their Segway PT. It is really hard
to see obstacles if you are looking through a camera view finder! |

Do we go inside museum or palace? |
|
| No, we are here to Segway and enjoy the City,
so that is what we are going to do! Besides there is always
some people that want 3hrs in a museum and others need only
30 minutes so it would be very hard to coordinate. |

How far in advance do I need to reserve? |
|
Reservations are recommended for 72 hours
in advance and can be made online, through partnering agents
or by phone at +66 2221 4525. You can always call us to check
for availability. |

Dress comfortable and it is highly recommended
that you wear comfortable closed toe flat shoes (no high heels,
sandals or flip flops). With tropical weather in Thailand,
sport t-shirt and trousers are a good fashionable idea. Each
Segway PT has a small handlebar storage bag for cameras, light
jackets and purses. Backpacks or bulky bags will not fit in
the handlebar bags. Please leave bulky backpacks at your hotel. |

Can I rent a Segway without the Segway
tour? |
|
For the Tour, we do not allow any clients
to rent Segway PT without the supervision from our Tour Guide
and escort staff. However, Segway Tour (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
is not only in charge of supervising and managing our Thailand’s
Segway Guided Tours but also handles all types of Segway PT
rentals comprising Mobile Advertising and Private to Corporate
Events.
We offer our clients the possibility
to personalize their Segways making them an excellent mean
for advertising. If desired, we can also provide a hostess
service to go on the Segway PT. If you are interested in renting
a fleet of Segways and want to personalize them with your

Are the tours cancelled in case of bad weather? |
|
No, our tours are ON light rain or shine.
We have ponchos available for anyone that needs them and the
Segways themselves are designed to run in any weather. In
the rare case of a tour cancellation due to a severe rain
we will offer space on an alternate date or time (if space
is available.) Each Segway PT has a handlebar storage bag
for cameras, light jackets and purses. |

What happens if I have to cancel? |
|
Reservations require a full deposit
paying in cash or by credit card. We will send an e-mail confirmation
of the date and time of your tour. Deposits are fully refundable
if the reservation is cancelled 3 days - 72 hours or more
prior to the scheduled tour. We have a limited amount of Segways
available for tours. No Shows are charged in full. The pre-paid
tour fees WILL NOT be refunded for any reason within 72 hours
of your scheduled tour. |

Do I have to sign any document before riding? |
|
Before any tour departure, you are required
to fill in our Registration Form and sign a Liability Waiver. |

Can I arrange for a private group event? |
|
Yes - We offer private group tours for corporate
functions and families. Private tours are for groups from
2 to 8 people. Larger groups can be split. Please contact
us first so that we can arrange the most appropriate trip
for you. Prices will be quoted after we customize your tour. |

How does Segway PT help Prevent
the Global Warming? |
|
The Segway's vision is to produce eco-friendly
short-distance transportation alternatives for many of the
short journeys that are typically made by car. The Segway
PT has many benefits for riders and the environment: less
gas to buy, easier to park, and less wear on your car.
It can also help reduce the impact of global warming by reducing
our greenhouse gas output and consumption of imported fossil
fuels. Zero-emissions are given off during operation, allowing
you to go indoors with their Segway PT. It does draw electric
power during recharge, but that electricity causes fourteen
times less greenhouse gas emissions (esp. CO2) than driving
a car.
When gliding on a Segway PT, you are doing more than just
shifting your consumption from petroleum to electric. Everything
about the Segway PT was designed to use electricity as efficiently
as possible. |
